Voter Identification Requirements


This page lists types identification documents to bring with you to vote in person.

Registering to vote in Pima County for the first time?
You may be looking for the list of Documents to Prove Citizenship or Documents to Prove Residency.
All types of documents must be valid. If your document shows on its face that it has expired, then it is NOT a usable form of identification. Your name and address must reasonably match the information in the voter roster
For most voters, a valid Arizona driver’s license or Arizona ID card, showing their current address, is all they will need to vote in person.
Voters should present one List 1 document OR two List 2 documentsOR two List 3 documents
List 1 - Photo ID*
(Present ONE)

  • Arizona Driver’s License
  • Identification Card issued by the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division
  • Tribal Enrollment card or other form of Tribal Identification
  • Other photo ID issued by the federal, state or local government
*Members of federally-recognized tribes are not required to have an address or photo on their tribal identification in order to cast a provisional ballot.
List 2 - Name & address document
(Present TWO)

  • Utility bill (dated within 90 days)
  • Bank or credit union statement (dated within 90 days)
  • Valid Arizona Vehicle Registration
  • Indian census card
  • Tribal Enrollment card or other forms of Tribal Identification
  • Property tax statement
  • Arizona vehicle insurance card
  • Recorder’s Certificate of status
  • Voter Registration card
  • Valid federal, state or local government issued identification card
  • Any mail addressed to you that includes the “Official Election Mail” logo
Electronic versions, including on a phone or tablet, of any of the items on this list are acceptable
List 3 - Combinations
(Present ONE combination of TWO documents)

  • Any valid photo identification from List 1 in which the address does not reasonably match the precinct register accompanied by a non-photo identification from List 2 in which the address does reasonably match the precinct register
  • U.S. Passport without address and one valid item from List 2
  • U.S. Military identification without address and one valid item from List 2
